About Us
In Haitian Austin Hub we strive to help and promote multi-generational Haitians from Austin, Texas. We hope to do that by connecting them to other Haitian groups and individuals, all while enabling positive community growth and change through education and celebration.
We aspire to become a place where all Haitians from Austin Texas feel safe to establish goals, accomplish dreams and express their culture.

Meet The Team
Cathie Jean Varlack, M.Ed.
Cathie was born in Haiti and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is an experienced educator with a bachelor's degree in English from Grand Valley State University and a master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Texas State University. She enjoys educating and working with the youth in the academic realm while bringing awareness about Haiti and Haitian culture within her community.
Jean Souffrant
Jean was born in Haiti, but he hails from Boston, Massachusetts. He received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Bridgewater State University outside of Boston. When Jean isn’t helping others achieve their real estate dreams, you can find him coaching soccer at Westlake or trying new recipes in his kitchen. He hopes to help guide the Haitian people, to push the culture forward, and to serve the people in his community.
Dordy Pierre-Paul
He is a bestselling author, mentor, technology expert, husband, father, and dedicated servant leader. Born in Haiti, he immigrated to Austin, Texas, in 2001. His passion to fostering a positive community led him and his fellow Haitians to form Haitian Austin Hub, a place where all Haitians in Austin can feel safe to establish their goals, accomplish their dreams, and express their culture.
Rebekah-Marie Casimir
Rebekah is an auditor, accountant, credit repair expert, Forex Trader, a mother of four and now treasurer at HAH. She was born in Haiti but moved to New Jersey at two years old. Rebekah attended the University of Phoenix where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, she later attended Life University in Georgia where she was awarded a Master’s degree in Sports Health Science. She enjoys helping people with their finances, traveling and eating awesome food.
Jesus Hernandez Alvarez
Jesus graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio in 2021. He is a passionate community advocate. Driven by the desire to serve others, he volunteers for Haitian Austin Hub to design various social media outreach materials. He also designed and currently manages this website. He hopes to continue helping the Haitian community to connect with other Haitians and resources in Austin.
