Jounen Kréyol

October 25th 2PM-5PM

Location: Austin International School

4001 Adelphi Ln, Austin, TX 78727

Join us for Jounen Kréyol, a vibrant celebration of Creole language, culture, and people from across the Creole-speaking world!

This immersive event invites you to explore the rich traditions of countries and regions where Creole thrives—through music, food, and community. We are excited to have representatives from Haiti, St. Lucia, Mauritius, Louisiana, and France—and we’re looking for more!

Get a taste of their unique cultural flavors. Enjoy music, sample some delicious Creole cuisine, and take part in mini Creole language classes—including Haitian Creole—as well as historical sessions exploring the roots and evolution of Creole culture. Whether you’re a native speaker or new to Creole traditions, this is your chance to connect, learn, and celebrate!

Interested in representing a Creole-speaking country or region? Reach out to Haitian Austin Hub at haitianaustinhub@gmail.com to get involved.

What we offer

Resources and Connection

Whether you are Haitian or not, if you are doing something to support Haiti or expanding the culture, we'll support you. We believe in our Haitian businesses, professionals, and non-profits. HAH amplifies what you are doing by making it easier for people to reach them and the services they provide.

Education

We want to educate Haitian people and the Austin community about Haiti. Haiti is a misunderstood country with a rich history and culture. We aim to showcase that richness to our community by teaching and celebrating Haitian culture.
