Haitian Flag Day

 May 17th, 2025

Location: The Village Place

8401 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin TX 78753

Join Haitian Austin Hub and local Haitians from the community as we celebrate our flag, our history, and our culture. This is a free, family-friendly event, and we want YOU to be a part of it. We’re looking for vendors, performers and volunteers!

About our Guest Speaker:
Regine Nelson is a first-generation Haitian-American, communicator, and storyteller passionate about helping people rise with intention. By day, she leads internal communications and employee engagement at a global tech company. By night (and heart), she’s a mom of three boys, a community builder, and an advocate for purpose-driven living.

Regine’s speech, titled We Are the Hope,” reflects on the power of collective resilience in the Haitian community. Drawing from her own experience as a Haitian-American mom, professional, and daughter of the diaspora, she will share how hope isn’t something we wait for—but something we carry, live, and pass on. The message is one of strength, unity, and forward-looking faith in the face of adversity.

What we offer

Resources and Connection

Whether you are Haitian or not, if you are doing something to support Haiti or expanding the culture, we'll support you. We believe in our Haitian businesses, professionals, and non-profits. HAH amplifies what you are doing by making it easier for people to reach them and the services they provide.

Education

We want to educate Haitian people and the Austin community about Haiti. Haiti is a misunderstood country with a rich history and culture. We aim to showcase that richness to our community by teaching and celebrating Haitian culture.
